In 2003, a group of Saint Louis University patients and community members banded together to form the Friends of the Saint Louis University Liver Center.

All funds generated by our fundraising efforts stay in St. Louis.

Each year we present these funds to the world renowned Saint Louis University Liver Center. Since 2003, we have presented the Saint Louis University Liver Center with more than $1,650,000 in donations. The contributions allow them to continue to make great strides in basic and clinical research in the treatment for all types of liver disease.


	The Saint Louis University Liver Center enjoys worldwide recognition as a center of excellence. Hepatitis C affects 5 million people in the United States. One in 50 people have Hepatitis C and nearly two-thirds of those people do not know they have it. Hepatitis C can be diagnosed with a simple blood test and is curable in about 60% of patients. In addition to Hepatitis C, there are over 30 other liver diseases which can be diagnosed and for which there are treatments. All money raised by the Friends of the Saint Louis University Liver Center stays in the St. Louis area to support programs in education and research of liver diseases.

Many of the Friends have a personal interest in the Liver Center since they or a close friend or relative have liver disease. You or someone you know may face this challenge one day.
