• Established in 2000 with an award from the SLU 2000 initiative.
  
• Largest liver practice and hepatitis C practice in the State of Missouri; seeing over 9,000 patient visits per year.
  
• Active clinical and basic research programs supported by the pharmaceutical industry and by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
  
• One of 10 sites in the United States supported by the NIH for evaluating the role of maintenance therapy for treatment of hepatitis C.
  
• One of 8 sites in the United States supported by the NIH for the evaluation and treatment of patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
  
• One of the largest treatment programs in the country for hepatocellular cancer.
  
• Approximately $2 million dollars of research money generated per year by contracts from the pharmaceutical industry and grants and contracts from the NIH.
  
• Have cured over 1,000 patients with hepatitis C at the Saint Louis University Liver Center.
