  • Uncommon disorder affecting the large and middle-sized bile ducts with scarring
  • Can progress to cirrhosis, liver failure
  • Affects men more than women
  • Cause unknown - may be immune-mediated
  • Often associated with ulcerative colitis
  • No effective treatment other than liver transplant
